“Elizabeth feels that there are disadvantages to the children who are married like her father.”
Marriage is something that should be taken seriously. It is not just something to say that you stand in front of an audience and say vows, salute your partner and then everything else good comes naturally. It takes hard work and partnership and it does not make sense if someone gets marry and they are not in love with the person.
In the book “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen, Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet are husband and wife. Mr. Bennet does not really love Mrs. Bennet but he says that she is tolerable woman, someone you can tolerate but no love. Elizabeth Bennet, the youngest out of five girls, feels that an individual who is married like her father or has the same relationship her father has with her mother is a disadvantage to children. Disadvantages such as deceiving the children; making the children feel that their parents love each other when they don’t, such relationships can influence children to grow up and marry for the wrong reasons and children cannot use parents as an life guide example since that the relationship between mother and father is only holding up because of the children.
Children are affected by these types of marriages physically and emotionally. It is not acceptable in today’s society to stay in a marriage relationship because of the children. Reason being, it only creates more problems since the two spouses are not affectionate with each other. The relationship would be based only on arguments about one spouse threatening to leave but only staying for the sake of the kids. Choices in the family will only be based about the children and not the family on a whole.
